The Liberals are surging. In Quebec, 63 seats constitutes a majority in the legislature.
Impressive showing by Couillard, who was in tough against Denis Trottier, the PQ incumbent who had held that riding since 2007, soundly beating his Liberal opponent last time around. Couillard ran in Outremont, a safe Liberal bastion in Montreal, to secure a place in the legislature last December. He had insisted running in the riding where he lives, well north of Quebec City in the Saguenay Lac-St-Jean region.
We don't have firm numbers yet on the other leaders: Marois, Legault, David.
